The Cook Islands

Key time to cruise: December to April, (the Pacific hurricane season is between May – November)
What we enjoyed: Exploring the island by car (soft top).

The Cook Islands are named after Captain James Cook, who visited during 1773 and 1777. The crew of Greywolf visited the islands during 2014. They decided to make an impromptu stop at the Islands whilst the weather settled during one of their voyages.

The Cook Islands contain 15 islands spread over a vast area in the South Pacific. The majority of islands are low coral atolls in the Northern Group, with Rarotonga, a volcanic island in the Southern Group. Once the weather improved the crew hired some jet skis and toured the coast line, which allowed them to see the beauty of the islands.
